Accessibility statement

Last updated July 2026.

SimuSign is built for Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing users together, and we treat the accessibility of the product itself as seriously as the accessibility it tries to provide. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the site: semantic structure, keyboard operability, visible focus, live-region announcements for streaming states, and contrast-checked text.

Known limitations we're working on

  • The signing avatar requires WebGL; devices without it see an explicit failure message rather than a silent blank.

  • The floating pop-out signer currently works in Chrome and Edge 116+ only.

  • Light theme only for now; a dark theme is planned.

  • Voice features depend on browser microphone/tab-capture support and work best in desktop Chromium browsers.

Feedback

If anything in SimuSign is hard to use with your assistive technology — or if our signing itself is the accessibility problem — tell us through ; we read every message. Reports from Deaf and hard-of-hearing users get first priority.
